This forecast is performed with the air quality modeling system Polyphemus, as a demonstration of our research activities. The Polyphemus air quality modeling platform is used with the chemical transport model Polair3D, the gas-phase chemical kinetic mechanism CB05, the inorganic aerosol thermodynamic model ISORROPIA (http://isorropia.eas.gatech.edu/) and the Cerea aerosol model SIREAM-H2O. Meteorological fields are computed using the Weather Research & Forecasting Model (http://www.wrf-model.org/) and forecast from National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP, http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov/), emissions are obtained from the European Monitoring and Evaluation Program (EMEP, http://www.emep.int/) expert inventory for 2009, and boundary conditions are climatological conditions obtained from MOZART4 (http://www.acd.ucar.edu/wrf-chem/mozart.shtml).
